What is a Tramper?

The Tramper is a specially designed, all-terrain mobility scooter, which can be used off road and even on rough ground, mud and grass. It is very robust, with light, accurate steering and tailored suspension, making it easy to handle and comfortable to ride on. It enables people who have a mobility impairment to experience the countryside; and to accompany friends and family when out walking.

A man with glasses and a beard is sitting on an electric mobility scooter on a rural road, giving a thumbs-up and smiling. The scooter has various stickers, including a bird and the words "South Downs National Park," and is branded "Skypark." The man is wearing a black T-shirt with the words "Cadence Club House". The background features grassy fields, a fence, a pole, and a small shed.

Do I need training?

The Tramper is an easy to handle all-terrain scooter which is very similar to conventional mobility scooters. When you hire a Tramper from Cocking Clubhouse, you will receive an induction on how to use the vehicle, including a safety briefing and importantly a test drive with a member of staff. This is so you feel safe and confident using the Tramper before you take it out for a ride yourself.
